Literary Lawn Party to help Milton library
MILTON — Want to celebrate literature and help out the Milton Public Library? Sue Williams, Director of the library said the 5th annual Literary Lawn Party is coming up this Saturday.
She described what the night will be like. “We’ll be spending an unforgettable evening in a 1920’s Paris setting. Guests can feel free to dress the part,” Williams said. “There will be live entertainment by local trio, Eve. You’ll learn a little bit about Hemingway. there will be a French themed fair of food offered. It’s just a very enjoyable night on the grounds of Rose Hill here at the library.”
This year’s theme is based on Ernest Hemingway’s “A Moveable Feast.” Williams said while the lawn party will be fun, it is also a very important event for the library.
“It really supports the operations of the library. With all of the budget cuts that are happening, no matter how many grants we apply for, none of them cover general library operations. So it’s important for us to be pro-active, get the community involved, and raise money for the library,” Williams said.
The Literary Lawn Party is Saturday at 7:00p.m. on the grounds of Rose Hill on Broadway in Milton. The minimum suggested donation is $40 a person, or $200 for a table of six. A meal is included. For more information and to print out an RSVP, go to www.miltonpalibrary.org. (Codi Jade)
