Local manufacturer gives to the United Way
KREAMER – As the United Way fundraising campaigns continue across the region, one local company is gearing up for their annual employee campaign. Wood Mode has contributed to the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way for several years and since they are one of the largest employers in the region, it can make a great impact.
Tom Morgenson of Wood Mode says they have some very generous employees. He said, “Our employees believe in the community. We have employees that have been at Wood Mode for 35 to 40 years. Lots of folks live in the community and they know the need and they rise to the challenge.”
Morgenson said, “Some of our employees have had a lot of hardships when you have down days at the plant. Budgets are squeezed, increases aren’t there and their worried about their kids and grand children. But they still come through and our employees really show their heart when it comes to the United Way.”
Employees at Wood Mode are able to give to the United Way through payroll deduction and those who participate are eligible for prizes including paid days off and parking spaces. All employees also receive a gift from Wood Mode. Other businesses across the region have similar campaigns to help the United Way reach their fundraising goals to support their agencies.
