Local pastor at presidental inauguration
WASHINGTON D.C. — The U.S. Marine Band warmed up the crowd at Monday’s presidential inauguration as hundreds of thousands of people waiting to hear President Barack Obama.
Reverend Ricky Phillips, pastor of Mazeppa Union Church in Lewisburg, is just one Valley resident in our nation’s capital. “The music is just outstanding and we have a good spot, we are right in front of the reflecting pond of the capital.”
Phillips says Monday’s message is about the future. “Everybody is excited for new thinking. We are trying to help move America ahead with both parties together.”
