Man stabbed several times in Sunbury

SUNBURY — A Sunbury man was hospitalized at Geisinger Medical Center after police say he was stabbed several times on Friday night. 26-year-old Shawn Snurkowski is in fair condition at Geisinger Medical Center after the incident. Two brothers, 31-year-old Damian Badman of Shamokin and 29-year-old Brian Badman of Sunbury, are locked up in the Northumberland County Prison, charged with stabbing Snurkowski.

Also injured in the stabbing was a woman identified as Amber Edwards, but her address was not known.


Police say the stabbing took place on North Sixth Street around 8:30 p.m. when a fight broke out, allegedly prompted by the Badman brothers. They were arrested a short time later by Sunbury police, who were assisted by Northumberland and Point Township officers. Snurkowski was flown to Geisinger with stab wounds to his chest and neck.
