Man uses infant to resist arrest

LEWISBURG — A Union County man is in custody following a parole violation Monday.  According to State Police in Milton, 23-year-old Dawud Wright of WhiteDeerTownship was violating a protection from abuse order.  As police approached Wright, he allegedly used his infant daughter to prevent troopers from arresting him.

Police say Wright would not release his 2-month-old daughter from his arms.  After a standoff for several minutes, troopers were able to safely remove the infant from Wright’s arms and take him into custody.  No one was injured in the standoff.  (Codi Jade)
