Mifflinburg teen in shootout with State Police
CHAMBERSBURG — A Mifflinburg teen who stole a gun and a car is being held without bail in Franklin County. Authorities say 16-year-old Sean Patrick Sellers shot at a trooper when he was stopped on Interstate 81 near Chambersburg.
Sellers is charged as an adult with attempted homicide and other counts. According to police, he stole a 22-caliber pistol and a Chevrolet Impala from a Mifflinburg home Sunday morning.
State police say Sellers allegedly fired once at Trooper Michael Quinn around 7 a.m. Sunday on I-81 near Chambersburg. The trooper fired back, but no one was injured.
Sellers is waiting for his preliminary hearing. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney.
Police say the shooting is not related to a road rage incident 15 miles further south on I-81 on Jan. 4 that left a 28-year-old Maine man dead.
