Husband and wife killed LaFerrara together
SUNBURY — The husband of murder suspect Miranda Barbour of Selinsgrove has been charged with strangling the victim, while his wife stabbed him to death. 22-year-old Elytte Barbour of Selinsgrove was arraigned last evening and sent to the Columbia County Prison, charged with homicide in the death of 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara of Port Trevorton.
Police now say the murder was planned and that Elytte Barbour was hiding in the backseat of the car under a blanket. When 18-year-old Miranda Barbour gave a signal, her husband reportedly wrapped a cord around LaFerrara’s neck and strangled him while Miranda repeatedly stabbed him with a pocket knife.
The two dumped his body in an alley in Sunbury and then Elytte Barbour went to a store and bought cleaning supplies while his wife waited in the car. Surveillance cameras show Elytte Barbour making the purchases. Miranda’s young daughter was taken by Children and Youth. (Ali Stevens)
