NFF: A Milton woman likes to share holiday joy
MILTON — Times are tough for a Milton couple. They’ve been working hard to make ends meet, but a decrease in pay and a rise in medical expenses makes managing finances more difficult. Jeanne Miller and her fiance both work at SUNCOM industries.
Miller also works for PennDOT twice a week for some added income. She is on Social Security Disability and between the costs for Medicare and prescriptions, money is tight. Miller was born and raised in Wisconsin, but now lives with her fiance in Milton. She likes it here, and is grateful for how generous The Valley has been.
The Needy Family Fund makes the holidays brighter, as Miller and her fiance like to enjoy the holiday meal with friends in need. She can’t stop thinking of the other families out there that may need the fund even more.
You can help Miller and other families in need this holiday season by donating to the Needy Family Fund. Each year, The Daily Item, the Salvation Army of Milton and Sunbury, Susquehanna Bank and the radio stations of Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation team up to raise money for families in need.
The Salvation Army distributes toys, food, clothing, and gifts to eligible families. You are asked to please consider a generous contribution to the Needy Family Fund. Donations can be dropped off at any branch of the Susquehanna Bank. More details are posted at www.wkok.com. (Codi Jade)
