NFF: Single mother needs help
MILTON — Unemployment benefits have supported Danita Robinson’s family for seven months, but she’s looking forward to being able to get back to work again soon. “There have been a few opportunities, but I don’t have a vehicle,” said the single mother of two.
Robinson said she’s hoping to be able to collect unemployment compensation until early next year when she expects a tax refund will be adequate for a down payment on a car. “I hope to make it until then. I don’t have a choice,” she said. In the meantime, Robinson said she’s grateful for the generosity of the community and the offer of toys, food and financial assistance through the Needy Family Fund.
“It amazes me how people are so caring. It makes a big difference for us to have programs like this,” said Robinson, who will be looking for gifts for her children, ages 8 and 5.
Each year, The Daily Item, the Salvation Army of Milton and Sunbury, Susquehanna Bank and the radio stations of Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation team up to raise money for families in need. The Salvation Army distributes toys, food, clothing, and gifts to eligible families.
You are asked to please consider a generous contribution to the Needy Family Fund. Donations can be dropped off at any branch of the Susquehanna Bank.
