Noted local leader Dr. Donald Kamsler dies
Dr. Donald Kamsler, founder of the Sunbury Animal Hospital, regional leader of Rotary International, past Sunbury Citizen of the Year, and noted local leader, has died. He died 6pm Sunday at his apartment at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
The Sunbury Rotary club noted he was a member of the club for more than 61 years. The Sunbury Animal Hospital lists his biography like this:
Dr. Kamsler founded the Sunbury Animal Hospital in 1952. He received his VMD degree from The University of Pennsylvania in 1950. Dr. Kamsler developed a reputation for service to both veterinary medicine and to his community. In 1998 he and his wife jointly received the Sunbury “Citizen of the Year” award from the American Legion. Dr. Kamsler is now retired and spends time with community service, the Salvation Army and dedication to Rotary International.
