Official kickoff for Father’s Hope

MILTON – A local non-profit will hold a kickoff event next month and they hope to raise some money at the same time.  Father’s Hope was established in September of last year by Kevin Mertz of Milton.  Their mission is to collect stuffed animals and send them to orphanages around the world.  Schools groups, organizations and more also create handmade cards to send to the children.

Mertz says he has been overwhelmed by the support so far.  “The kids love receiving things and having people there for them.  It also sparks an interest in local children at schools to be involved with this project.  It gives them a sense of pride and community.”

Mertz says they will be holding their official kickoff Saturday, April 20 with a concert and fellowship at Revival Tabernacle in Watsontown.  He says they are asking for a free will offering, which will help cover the shipping costs.  All are invited to the kickoff fundraising concert, which starts at 7:00p.m.  For more information here.
