Over 350 lose power in Herndon
HERNDON — A tree caused over 350 Herndon folks to lose power Saturday. According to The News Item, the customers were without power for more the six hours Saturday afternoon. The incident happened around 11:30a.m. when a tree fell on power lines along Route 147.
Both lanes of Route 147 in the area were closed for a time as PPL crews worked to remove the tree. A 2-mile stretch of roadway was blocked during the work and motorists were forced to take a detour. The work ended and power was restored by 6:00p.m. (Codi Jade)
