Part-time employees may be getting full time benefits

SUNBURY – Northumberland County Commissioners are keeping tight-lipped about details, but they allege that two part time county employees are getting full time health benefits.  Commissioner Stephen Bridy first brought up the issue during Tuesday’s public meeting.  He made a motion, which was passed, to look into the issue.

Commissioner Vinny Clausi says if these two part time employees, who have been with the county for years, are getting full time benefits it could be costing the county $300,000-$400,000, which Clausi calls corruption.  Commissioners would not discuss the identities of the employees or their department.
