Party makes memories for children
MILTON– “Magic,” “memories” and “wish” are terms that seem attached to the holiday season, but only the Magical Memories Wish Kid Party puts all those terms together for one very touching event. The party is held annually for local children with life threatening illnesses and disabilities. Kerry Tilford is the party coordinator.
Tilford said, “It’s just a wonderful day for these children and their families to come together. They come to this party and they don’t have to feel different in any way, because they all share the same aspects of having a life threatening illness.”
The planning committee acquires the names of the children from the Make a Wish Foundation, but the party is made possible 100% by community support. Activities at the party include a Kingdom Kids Puppet Show, woody wolf, balloons, crafts, portraites, a photo booth, candy table and a nail station.
Tilford said, “It’s important because even though these kids get a wish from the “Make a Wish Foundation,” once they get their wish their illness doesn’t go away. The party is just something that they have to look forward to every year. Our goal is to make memories that are magical for the families and the children.”
The Magical Memories Wish Kid Party is Saturday, December 8 at 1:00p.m. at the Christ Wesleyan Church on Stamm Road, Milton. Anyone interested in helping with this event can contact Kerry at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Codi Jade)
