Plea entered in deadly crash
MIFFLINBURG – A man could get jail time for his role in a 2011 crash that killed a Mifflinburg girl.
Christopher Libby could spend up to three months behind bars for the crash that killed his girlfriend, 18-year-old Emily Kunkel. He pleaded no contest on Friday to involuntary manslaughter charges. A judge is expected to rule on whether he will accept the plea agreement by March 15.
The crash happened in August 2011. Authorities say Libby was driving his car along Sportsman Club Road in WestBuffaloTownship, near Mifflinburg. For unknown reasons, the vehicle went off the road, rolled multiple times, and came to a stop in a wooded area. Both Libby and his passenger Kunkel were not wearing seatbelts and were thrown from the vehicle. Kunkel died at the scene. (Codi Jade)
