Police search for armed man

SELINSGROVE — Police are looking for an armed man who they say led them on a chase Thursday afternoon.  Selinsgrove State Police say 44-year-old Charles Horrax Jr., whose last known address was in Bloomsburg, got away in a vehicle and is armed with at least two knives.

The incident started just before 4:00p.m. when police attempted to stop Horrax along Route 522 in Selinsgrove.  After two miles, Horrax pulled his vehicle over, but as police approached, he pulled out two knives and held them to his throat.  Officers were attempting to take Horrax into custody when he took off in his vehicle once again.  This time, Horrax led police on a high-speed chase through Shamokin Dam, Northumberland and northbound on Route 11.
For safety reasons, and because police had identified Horrax, they terminated the chase.  Horrax was driving a blue Ford minivan. Police say anyone who comes in contact with him should use extreme caution.  Anyone who may have information is asked to call Selinsgrove State Police at 570-374-8145. (Sara Bartlett)
