Public meeting on Route 45 construction

MIFFLINBURG — Mifflinburg residents will get a chance to speak up about PennDOT’s latest project. A public meeting will be held regarding the status of the Route 45 section 12M reconstruction project. PennDOT’s Rick Mason said, “This roadway reconstruction project includes curb ramps, as well as additional reconstruction along Route 45, known locally as Chestnut Street through the borough.

The project began last fall and it’s currently in a winter shut down. It is ready to resume this spring on the section of road between Route 104 and Forest Hill Road.” PennDOT’s contractor Don E. Bower Incorporated will hold the public meeting to explain the complexity of the project and the detours that will be necessary.

Mason said, “It’s a very involved project that involves multiple phased detours. We just want to keep the public apprised of what we have planned for this project and what they can expect this construction season.” The public is invited to voice their comments, concerns, or questions at the meeting March 6 at 7:00p.m. at the Mifflinburg Area Middle School.
