Rash of BB gun shootings in Sunbury

SUNBURY – Sunbury police are on the lookout for whomever responsible for a rash of BB gun shootings in the city. The incidents happened over the last week.  Police Chief Brad Hare tells us the suspects have shot BB’s at parked vehicles and also at moving vehicles, causing damage to windows and other property.

One incident was reported on Reagan Street, two on Eleventh Street (near Reagan Street), and one incident occurred in the 500 block of Chestnut Street.  So far, no suspects have been identified, but Hare says he believes the suspects may be kids.

Anyone seeing anyone walking around with a BB gun or pellet gun should contact police. Call 9-1-1 if you see a suspicious person.  He reminds residents that BB guns can be very dangerous, especially when fired at moving vehicles.  Hare says when those responsible are caught, they will be prosecuted.  (Ali Stevens)
