Road work in Northumberland County

SHAMOKIN — Motorists in Northumberland County can expect some delays in the upcoming days.  PennDOT has several projects lined up across the county.

 

Starting tomorrow (Friday), crews will be performing roadway base repairs on Badmans   Hill Road in Shamokin Township.  The road will be closed Friday between 7:00a.m. and 4:00p.m. between Irish Valley Road and Route 61.  A detour will be in effect using Route 61 and Irish Valley Road.

 

PennDOT also plans to work on Musser Lane in DelawareTownship next Tuesday.  Crews will be replacing two cross pipes to improve drainage.  The pipes are located between Blue Ball Road and Peach   Orchard Road.  The work is expected to take one day.  There will be a closure between 7:00a.m. and 4:00p.m., during which time a detour will be in place.  the detour will use I-180 and Route 54.

 

Also on Tuesday, work will begin on a section of Mile Post Road in Upper Augusta Township for the replacement of eight cross pipes to improve drainage.  The work will be between Shikellamy Avenue and Mount Pleasant Road.  The work will take place between 7:00a.m. and 4:00p.m. and will continue into the next 10 weekdays.   A detour will use Fourth   Street, Mile Hill Road and Mount Pleasant Road.

 

Starting on Wednesday, crews will begin work in Lewis Township.  Seven cross pipes need replaced along a section of Route 44.  Those pipes will also be replaced to improve drainage.  The pipes are located between Rovenolt Drive and Pine Street in Turbotville.  The work is scheduled to last through Friday.  A detour using the Susquehanna Trail, Warrior Run Boulevard and Route 54 will be in effect between 7:00a.m. and 4:00p.m.  (Codi Jade)
