Search for missing man to continue on limited basis
BEAR GAP — The search for a missing Northumberland man is scaling back. The Bureau of Forestry’s incident management team will be turning over the search for 54-year-old Michael Kenney back to the local Forest District in the Bear Gap area. The search will continue on a more limited basis. If additional information is available, the Bureau of Forestry says additional resources may again be allocated for the investigation.
Kenney has been missing since last Wednesday when he did not return home from jogging in Weiser State Forest. Systematic grid searches will continue throughout the forest and adjacent land. Monday, motorists were stopped by law enforcement on Route 54 near Natalie to gather any information.
Police are asking that motorists use caution when driving on Route 54 and Route 42 in that area due to the search. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bureau of Forestry at 570-875-6450. (Sara Bartlett)
