SHAMOKIN – A Shamokin man has been charged with assaulting a 17-year-old Northumberland girl.  Police say 22-year-old Timothy Jeremiah of Shamokin assaulted the girl around 5:30 a.m. on December 1^st at Jeremiah’s residence.

The News Item reports the teen was a runaway at the time of the assault.   Jeremiah is locked up in the Northumberland County Prison on a probation violation.  (Ali Stevens)
