Six vehicle crash closes Interstate 80

LEWISBURG — A six vehicle crash on Interstate 80 eastbound in White Deer Township shut down the highway for about three hours yesterday. State police say the accident took place around 3:30 p.m. at mile marker 207. Trooper say a truck driver from Ottawa, Kansas was driving too fast in the snow and the rig jackknifed, causing several other vehicles to crash.

No injuries were reported. Three tractor-trailers and three other vehicles were involved in the pileup. No local drivers were involved. Both lanes of Interstate 80 eastbound were closed for cleanup. (Ali Stevens)
