VIDEO HERE: Small Business Development Center celebrates 35 years
LEWISBURG– The Small Business Development Center of Bucknell University celebrated 35 years of growing small business on Friday at the County Cupboard.
Steven Stumbris, Director of Bucknell SBDC, spoke about the history of the organization saying, ” The SBDC was created in 1978 for the purpose of helping all types of small businesses in nearby counties having problems in all subjects ranging from accounting to welding, with assistance being provided by Bucknell faculty members, employees and students serving as assistants to professional people. ”
Also during the event SBDC honored area small business owners. The Small Business Person of the Year went to Kathy Grandizio, owner of the Danville Pharmacy.
Others honored include, Jessica Grill, owner of Pompeii Street Soap Company. Grill was awarded with the Innovation in New Product Development Award, and Erin Jablonski, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at Bucknell with the Charles H. Coder Entrepreneurial Leadership Award.
The Bucknell Chapter of SBDC continues to provide entrepreneurs with the education, information, and consulting services they need to build successful businesses. ( Sarah Lagerman)
