Snyder County Coalition focuses on Kids
MIDDLEBURG – Drug abuse effects more than just the user. Snyder County District Attorney Michael Piecuch is not naive to that fact and it is one of the reasons drug use will be the topic of an upcoming Snyder County Coalition for Kids meeting.
“We are going to have some experts from our juvenile probation department work with kids. I wish I could say drug abuse is not here in Snyder County, but it is. Even if your child does not have a problem with drugs, it is likely they know someone who does. We are asking people to come out and help the community reduce the risks”
Deb Shaffer is community mobilizer for the coalition and says they were pleased with the turnout for their first meeting and hope there is a similar attendance for this one. “We want the community to rally, to help and to make a difference for our youth.”
The next Snyder County Coalition for Kids meeting is Monday May 13 from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at Midd-West High School. There is childcare available during the meeting at Grace Covenant Church. For more information, search Snyder County Coalition for Kids on Facebook. (Sara Bartlett)
