No charges yet for shot Sunbury teen
UNDATED — It is still being determined what charges will be filed against a Sunbury teen who led police on a chase before being shot. 17-year-old Naheem Reams remains in a juvenile detention center after being released from the hospital last Wednesday.
Reams had been at Geisinger Medical Center since being shot by Sunbury Police June 5. When approached by officers late June 5, Reams reportedly sped off in his vehicle, hitting two police cars and attempted to hit a police officer. Police fired one shot and hit Reams in the abdomen.
Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Rosini says it will be two to three weeks before there will be charges filed against Reams. Rosini says the investigation is ongoing and he continues to work with police on what charges could be filed and whether Reams will be charged as a juvenile or an adult. (Sara Bartlett)
