Student faces a felony charge in police pursuit
SELINSGROVE — A 19-year college student is facing a felony charge and other charges after leading police on a vehicle pursuit early Sunday morning in Selinsgrove. Police in Selinsgrove say 19-year old Cedric Barfield, a student at Susquehanna University, was driving near the intersection of Pine and Orange Streets when police noticed he did not have his headlights turned on.
It happened around 12:40 a.m. and that’s when police say Barfield attempted to flee police at a high rate of speed, violating numerous traffic laws and almost hitting a nearby police car. The pursuit ended at the intersection of Pine Street and Liberty Alley and Barfield was taken into custody. He was arraigned before District Judge John Reed and placed in the Snyder County Prison on $25,000 bail.
Barfiled faces a felony charge of fleeing police. He is also facing charges of DUI, reckless driving and other traffic violations. (Sara Lauver)
