SUN Tech asking for donations
NEW BERLIN — The SUN Area Career and Technology Center has been helping students gain unique and useful skills for many years. Now, they could use your help. The SUN Tech Foundation was established to enhance the educational experience for their students. The school is asking for donations to help with advances in technology and student financial needs.
Preston Ross, a board member at SUN Tech, talked about how the school has used the funds to make improvements so far. “We’ve outgrown the space that was initially built. We’ve gotten a lot more sophisticated equipment to be able to keep up with the modern world today and to give our students the best advantage that we possibly can. So that they can leave Tech and go to college if they want to, or go into the work force, which has a high demand for what we are producing at SUN Tech.”
Ross says the school is a great place for students to train for the real world. He says the SUN Tech Foundation helps to “bridge the financial gap.”
If you would like to learn more about the school, there is an open house Wednesday from 9:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. Assistant Administrative Director Judy Sharer said, “Come over, enjoy some refreshments, see some live demonstrations, meet our teachers, tour our school. We will also have a college fair going on at the same time where students can come in and talk to some colleges. We also have a lot of alumni students coming back as employees of business, and you can stop in and talk to them as well.”
