Sunbury teens charged with arson
SUNBURY — Charges have been filed against two teens accused of arson in Sunbury. According to Sunbury Police, 13 and 14-year-old Sunbury boys have been charged for their part in an arson fire at the former Sunbury Middle School Monday afternoon.
Video surveillance from inside the building was used to help obtain the identities of the males. They were seen spray painting the walls and spraying fire extinguishers throughout the building. Police say they tried to light a room on fire and used a broom and a spray paint can to attempt to light other items on fire inside the building.
The boys are charged with felony counts of arson, burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and risking a catastrophe. The teens were turned over to Northumberland County Juvenile Probation. (Codi Jade)
