Sunbury woman to be celebrated tonight

SUNBURY — A memorial will be held this evening for a Sunbury woman who died in Maine earlier this week.  A “Celebration of Life for Melissa Moyer” will be held at 6:00p.m. in Cameron Park tonight.

Tricia Shambach of Selinsgrove says Missy’s is a life worth celebrating.  “Missy was a wonderful person.  She was an excellent mother and a great friend.  She impacted a lot more lives, I think, than she knew.  The thing we’ll remember most about her is her adventurous spirit.”

38-year-old Melissa Moyer of Sunbury and 37-year-old Amy Stiner, originally from Bloomsburg, died Tuesday in a tragic accident.  The two reportedly drove the wrong way into the water off the coast of Machias, Maine.

Missy’s Celebration of Life is tonight at 6:00p.m. in Cameron Park.  Willie Jack and the Northern Lights will be playing during the celebration of a woman that loved local music.  A collection will also be taken during the celebration for Moyer’s son, Alex.  If you cannot make it tonight, there is also a website set up online for donations, at http://www.grovedesignsolutions.com/missy-donation.html.  (Codi Jade)
