Hospital lockdown following threats
SHAMOKIN — A man has been released from custody following what police say was a threat at the Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital. Coal Township Police say the emergency room was placed on lock down around 1:15p.m. Friday when a man threatened to bring his gun to the hospital. Police say the man’s wife was being treated at the hospital. She said her husband became angry when her friends came to see her. He left the hospital, then called to threaten that he would return with a gun.
The lock down was lifted by 2:15p.m. when the man was located in Mount Carmel. He was interviewed and released. No weapons were found. Police from Coal Township, Ralpho Township, Shamokin and Mount Carmel assisted with the incident. No word yet if any charges will be filed. (Codi Jade)
