The Valley gives on Thanksgiving
NORTHUMBERLAND — Many churches in The Valley are sharing their meals with the community on Thanksgiving Day.
Sue Anne Hinkle is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Northumberland, who served their meal at11:00a.m. She’s been helping the church serve this meal for 18 years. She said, “We felt in the past years that it is always a need in this area. There are so many people out of work that don’t have the money to really afford a Thanksgiving dinner. We thought this is one way that we could help out the community.”
If you missed that one and are still in need of a meal, there are several other locations still holding meals today:
In Selinsgrove, the All Saints Episcopal Church has a free meal from noon to 3:00p.m. The church is located along Market Street in Selinsgrove.
In Lewisburg, a free meal is still being served until 1:00p.m.today at the First Presbyterian Church. You can call 524-4419 for more information on that meal.
There is also a meal today at the First Lutheran Church on Main Street, Watsontown until 2:00p.m. (Codi Jade)
