Third vote on Northumberland County budget
SUNBURY – A third vote is expected today on a tentative budget for 2014 in Northumberland County. The commissioners have a public meeting at 1 p.m. today at the Northumberland County Administration Center in Sunbury.
Commissioner Chairman Vinny Clausi and Commissioner Richard Shoch have both voted against the budget while Commissioner Stephen Bridy voted in favor of it. Commissioner Clausi was away on business for the last budget vote, but will be in attendance for today’s vote. He has not indicated which way he will vote at today’s meeting.
The tentative spending plan is $72.7-million and must be approved at today’s meeting or at a special meeting before December 11th. That will leave 20 days for the public to review it prior to a passage required by December 31st. (Ali Stevens)
