Three noontime injury accidents in The Valley
UNDATED – There were three injury accidents, around noon, in The Valley Friday:
The first happened near Herndon, on Herndon Bypass road. Troopers say Elijah and Jedidiah Ilgenfritz of Dornsife were injured and did not require hospitalization. The two teens were in a car that went off the road, hit a dirt embankment, and rolled over. Both were wearing seatbelts according to state police.
The second crash happened when a Dornsife woman escaped serious injury after a crash on Route 147. That crash was in LowerAugustaTownship, Northumberland County Friday afternoon. 21-year-old Katelynn Straub was driving just after noon on Route 147 near Hallowing Run Road when she lost control of her vehicle.
The car hit a guardrail and rolled over an embankment. Straub had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken by ambulance to GeisingerMedicalCenter. She was treated and released. Police say Straub was wearing a seatbelt and will be charged for a traffic violation. (Sara Bartlett)
The third noontime wreck happened on Route 35 in WestPerryTownship, SnyderCounty (near Richfield). Injured were Mary and Joda Miller. The two 74-year-olds from Newport were treated and released from GeisingerMedicalCenter in Danville. Wayne Dressler of Thompsontown also had injuries and did not require hospitalization.
State troopers say the Millers crossed the centerline of the road and ran into the other auto head on. Several passengers in the Miller vehicle were not hurt. Dressler was a passenger in the second auto and no one else was injured in that crash. The Millers were not wearing seat belts and Dressler was. (Sara Bartlett/Mark Lawrence)
