Tree lighting to remember at Evangelical
LEWISBURG – The 26th annual Lights of Love tree lighting ceremony will take place at Evangelical Community Hospital on Sunday at 4 p.m. Lights of Love offers an opportunity to honor and remember family, friends and loved ones by placing a light on a holiday tree that will shine through the month of December in the hospital’s dining room.
Each honoree will also be inscribed in a special book in the lobby of the hospital and a card will be sent to the honorees or their families telling them of the special gift. All proceeds will benefit Evangelical Hospice, a service that provides care and support to terminally ill patients and their families.
The 2013 Lights of Love Honorary Chairpersons are the family of Fay Oberlin and Yvonne Yerger. Fay was admitted to Evangelical Hospice in June of 2011 and received care for several months. Her daughter Yvonne was admitted to Hospice in June of 2012 and received care for a few weeks. Monetary donations will be accepted through December 31st.
The tree lighting will take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday in the Hospital’s dining room and will feature entertainment by the Buffalo Valley Singers. (Ali Stevens)
