Two women seriously injured in a Friday crash
MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS – Two women were seriously injured in a crash on Route 35 near Mount Pleasant Mills Friday afternoon. State police say 24-year-old Jayla Briggs of Richfield was traveling east on Route 35 and swerved into oncoming traffic, hitting a vehicle driven by 83-year-old Lorena Reed of Mount Pleasant Mills.
Both women were trapped in their vehicles and had to be rescued. They were flown by Life Flight to Geisinger Medical Center. Briggs is listed in serious condition and Reed is in critical condition. State police were assisted by Fremont, Richfield and Middleburg Fire Departments. (Ali Stevens)
