U.S. Marshals arrest Scott Binsack
SHAMOKIN — A man who had been on the run from authorities since late October has been captured in New York. Shamokin Police Chief Edward Griffiths told the News Item Scott Binsack was arrested Tuesday night near Bath, New York. Binsack was wanted for a parole violation by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. Binsack has been taunting law enforcement and city officials on YouTube by making videos while he was eluding authorities. Binsack is a former Shamokin resident who has spent time in prison for deceptive business practices.
He and a business partner attended a Shamokin City Council meeting with plans to revitalize the city using $13.5-million in investment funds. Binsack has since been banned from being part of a business or participating in financial business transactions. (Ali Stevens)
