Superintendent not discouraged by vandals
MILTON – Vandals hit a local elementary school just two days before classes are set to begin. While police continue their investigation into vandalism at White Deer Elementary School, the Milton Area School District Superintendent says they will not be disheartened.
Cathy Groller says school starts, as planned, Thursday. “I feel that we are secure and safe and that police will provide the best they can give us as a school district. I have no reason to be discouraged other than to think about what would drive people to want to vandalize a school building.”
The vandalism was found Tuesday morning when staff arrived to work at the elementary school. Groller and state police did not describe the vandalism. The school was closed as the investigation continued. “The vandalism occurred inside rooms and classrooms of the building.”
State Police were on the scene Tuesday morning. They expect to release more information as it becomes available. School in the district will begin Thursday as planned. (Sara Bartlett)
