VIDEO HERE: Biggest thrift store in US brings 80 jobs to Snyder County

SELINSGROVE – Anxious shoppers lined up outside Community Aid in Selinsgrove Wednesday to get first dibs on what the new thrift store had to offer.  “We just opened up the largest thrift store in the whole country,” says Community Aid Executive Director Glenn Chandler.  “There are lots and lots of bargains and we are just here to serve the community.”

The 74,000 square foot store opened its doors at 9:00a.m.  With a new shopping experience, the store also brings nearly 80 jobs to the region.  “It is really a blessing for our area to have a store like this,” says Snyder County Commissioner Joe Kantz.  “This is a way you can get something you need at the store and also help the community.”

Community Aid partners with many local groups raising money from sales and donations that will be put back into the local community.  Shoppers came from near and far to experience opening day.  The store plans to have special events during their opening week, along with weekly specials including senior days and family days.
