Video Here: Counselor and local running coach talk about Boston tragedy

Watch Cheryl Stumpf’s full interview here:

SELINSGROVE – A Susquehanna University counselor says it is important to be mindful when talking with children about tragedies, such as the bombings at Monday’s Boston Marathon.  Cheryl Stumpf says it is not good to ignore the topic just because it may be uncomfortable to talk about.  “Allowing them to talk freely and asking them what they think about the situation is really important.”

Stumpf is also the executive director of Girls on the Run Susquehanna Valley and talks about what happened in Boston from that perspective.   “I have been sending out information from Girls on the Run International.  There is a group, the SoleMates, who run to raise money for GOTR, so this really reverberates in the running community and throughout the nation.” (Sara Bartlett)
