VIDEO HERE: Local dancers perform on national stage
LEWISBURG — Thirteen local dancers were part of the Orange Bowl halftime show Friday in Miami.
The dancers from Lewisburg Dance Conservatory, along with their director Jayme Klinger Host joined hundreds of dancers from all over the country. “There were about 480 dancers from 22 states. It is nice we could all come together,” says Klinger Host.
The dancers performed while country star Dierks Bentley played. 14-year-old Ashley Fister is a student at Shikellamy High School and says they were excited and nervous. “We were standing in line ready to go on the field and everyone had a nervous stomach. But, then we just got out there and did our best and everyone said we did a good job.”
The group arrived in Miami on New Year’s Eve and rehearsed with celebrity dance choreographers to prepare for the performance in SunLife Stadium. (Sara Bartlett)
