Volunteers needed: Priorities for Impact Councils

SUNBURY – Volunteers are needed now for some new councils being formed by the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way. The United Way is looking for people to join six councils focused on community-identified needs known as the United Way’s Priorities for Impact.

The councils will be established for each issue, including alcohol and drug abuse, poverty, public transportation, accessibility to quality early childhood education, diversity and the need for social opportunities for at-risk teens. Councils will begin meeting in early October to help improve these issues in Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties.

Anyone interested in volunteering for a Priorities for Impact Council can contact the United Way no later than September 30th by calling 988-0993. You can also visit their website at www. gsvuw.org. (Ali Stevens)
