UNDATED — Some of the top stories in weekend news:
• Due to extensive damages, the cause of a fire at the home located on the 600 block of Mahoning Street in Milton could not be determined. Firefighters were called to the home of Michael and Traci Messinger last week to find heavy smoke and fire that ultimately caused the collapse of the home’s walls and roof. After an investigation last week, Milton Fire Chief Sam Shaffer says the cause is undetermined. One minor injury of a firefighter and the death of a dog in the home were reported in that blaze.
• State Police at Milton are investigating an armed robbery that took place last week at the Turkey Hill Minit Market on Mahoning Street. The man entered the store with a firearm and demanded money. He took cash from the register and fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police.
• There was a grand opening for a new coffee shop, fitness center, bookstore and youth area at Christ Wesleyan Church in Milton.
