Witness in murder trial claims D.A. lied
SUNBURY – A convicted murderer from Northumberland County continues to fight his execution sentence. The Daily Item reports 41-year-old Kevin Marinelli’s federal appeal of his 1995 death sentence is now on hold, pending his latest petition for post-conviction relief in Northumberland County Court.
His latest federal appeal was put on hold Tuesday pending a decision in Northumberland County Court on the filing that alleges a trial witness, Nathan Reigle, now claims then District Attorney Robert Sacavage told him how to lie at the 1995 trial about Marinelli’s role in the killing.
Marinelli is fighting execution for the April 1994 murder of Conrad Dumchock during a home invasion in Kulpmont. He is currently on death row at SCI-Greene. Mark Marinelli and Thomas Kirchoff are serving life sentences for their roles in Dumchock’s death. (Ali Stevens)
