WKOK goes to New Jersey, makes video
NEW JERSEY — As hurricane Sandy swept through the east coast, parts of the New Jersey Shore went with it. We sent Codi Jade there to see the impacts and talk with those impacted.
Our first stop was at a local high school, where the football team was playing a regular season game two weeks late, due to hurricane Sandy. Paul, a dad from Jackson Memorial High School, explained why the game was postponed. He said, “This town has been without power for five days, then we got it back for a day or two, and then we lost it again for another three days. The kids in our school have been to school only about two days out of the past two weeks. The team we are playing against hasn’t been back to school yet and many of the families are living in shelters.”
