Yard sale and bone marrow drive to help local man with cancer

UNDATED — As a Selinsgrove man awaits his fourth bone marrow transplant, a fundraiser will be held this weekend for him in Sunbury.  56-year-old Dave Burns continues his battle with acute leukemia.

Saturday all are invited to become a bone marrow donor with an easy mouth swab.  “I already have a donor,” says Burns, “but this is for other people who may need a donor.  It will put more people on the registry to give other people a better chance to find someone who matches them.”

In addition, there will be a yard sale Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church in Sunbury from8:00a.m.-3:00p.m.  For more information or to donate items to the yard sale contact Anna Detweiler at ardetweiler@geisinger.edu. (Sara Bartlett)
