NFF: Single mom hoping for good holiday
MILTON — Melissa Biddle spends most of her days around children. The single mother works for minimum wage at a day care in the borough and then spends her free time caring for her three young sons, 3, 6 and 8. “I love kids; I wouldn’t want it any other way,” she said.
However, times have been tough for the Milton mom, who said she simply wants to give her boys a nice Christmas. It’s been hard since separating from her husband a year and a half ago, when she had to find a job to support her family, but Biddle said she tries to keep a positive perspective on things for the sake of her family.
She says she tries to keep positive, not only for herself but for her boys. When things get rough, she says she tries harder to keep everything positive for her family.
Each year, The Daily Item, Susquehanna Bank, the Salvation Army of Milton and Sunbury and the radio stations of Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation sponsor the Needy Family Fund. The Salvation Army provides food, toys, clothes and other assistance to local families. You can donate to any branch of Susquehanna Bank.
