SUNBURY – A Sunbury man charged with stabbing a man in the city in July will face a trial in Northumberland County. 23-year-old Joseph Rice entered a plea of not guilty during a preliminary hearing before District Judge Ben Apfelbaum in Sunbury on Thursday. He faces four felony counts, including aggravated assault. All charges against Rice were sent to court. Police say Rice stabbed Darryl Troup after storming into a home on July 7th. Troup was treated at Sunbury Community Hospital for stab wounds to his knees. (Ali Stevens) Follow

The sale will be held rain or shine. Items for sale include but are not limited to: china, silver, books, games, jewelry, artwork, collectibles, small appliances, furniture, home decor items and athletic equipment. The museum will be accepting donations for the sale until Wednesday, Sept. 12. No donations of clothing or non-functioning appliances will be accepted. The Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art is proud to host the Tröegs Rugged Trail Run for Conservation on Saturday, September 13 on the Ned Smith Center trail system. This is the third year that the Center has hosted the trail run, but the first year that the run will be presented in association with Hershey-based Tröegs Brewing Company. Participants in the Rugged Trail Run can choose from two courses: the “Hop Back Trail,” a beginner/intermediate course; and the “Rugged Trail,” a steeper, more elevated course for advanced runners.
