Heart of Lewisburg Ice Festival this week

LEWISBURG – The ninth annual Heart of Lewisburg Ice Festival is Friday and Saturday in downtown Lewisburg. Linda Sterling of the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership says the ice festival gets underway at noon Friday in Hufnagle Park.

That’s when a team of ice carvers from First Night Ice Sculptors will start work on giant carved blocks of ice. That will include a block of ice that will be carved into the giant Lewisburg throne. This year a new event—a Frosty 5K—is part of the festivities.

There are plenty of other events to enjoy including the Polar Bear Plunge, children’s games, a chili cook-off, a 5k race, a free movie at the Campus Theatre and more. Find out more information about all the events online at www.lewisburgpa.com. The event is organized each year by the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership. (Ali Stevens)
