U.S. Senator doesn’t want to be Governor

HARRISBURG – U.S. Senator Pat Toomey is not interested in becoming the next Governor of Pennsylvnaia. Earlier this week, Franklin and Marshall College pollster Terry Madonna said a strong Republican needs to step forward to run against Governor Tom Corbett, if Republican’s want the position to stay with the GOP. However, Toomey says he is not going to be that guy.

Toomey said, “I’m not even thinking about it. I’ve got a very full plate. I’ve got a lot of work to do which is challenging and rewarding to try to represent Pennsylvania as well as I can in the United States Senate. I supported the Governor. I continue to support the Governor and I’m going to continue to focus on my work.”

Toomey was a guest on WKOK’s Sunrise Friday morning talking about his budget ideas. You can hear his ideas posted online at www.wkok.com. (Ali Stevens)
