Observatory Family Night, 7 to 9:30 p.m., Observatory (southern end of Bucknell campus near stadium). Singer/songwriter KJ Reimensnyder-Wagner will sing songs about stars and constellations; Bucknell professor Ned Ladd will present the interactive talk, “What’s a Constellation?”; children can make their own glow-in-the-dark constellations and participate in other star-studded craft activities. If skies are clear, the Observatory’s telescopes will be open for viewing the planet Jupiter, stars and constellations. This free event will be held rain or shine.
The Courtyard Theater will present “Weekend at Withingham’s,” an audience participation murder mystery dinner, in late February. The two-hour production involves a play within a play, the setting is in a restaurant, and the audience is watching a dinner theater. And then a murder occurs. As the play progresses, the audience will be involved in questioning the suspects, and in writing down who did it, and why. The theater will present three performances of “Weekend at Withingham’s.” The show dates are: Feb. 27-28 and March 1. Ready for your self-made challenge? The Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority (BVRA) is excited to announce the First Annual Idita-Trail & Winter Challenge on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 at 9:30am on the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail (BVRT). The weekend before the actual 998-mile Iditarod Great Sled Race in Alaska, frosty paws and feet will compete to finish the entire 9 miles of the BVRT from Lewisburg to Mifflinburg, PA. Racers are permitted to walk, run, bike, or even snowshoe or ski in order to complete the challenge. The race is an all-weather event; the more snow and the colder the weather the better the challenge! Canine companions are welcomed, but not required. Pre-register by February 13th...
